Newton County Academy started the game off changing what has work all season long with a 36 yard pass from Ty Thrash to Jackson Bunyard for 6, as the Newton County Academy Generals (4-0) defeated Ben’s Ford Christian Academy (3-0), 56-14 on Friday September 9.

The game began with Newton County throwing two straight 30 plus yard passes for two scores by Ty, who finished with 8-11 passing for 314 yards 4 touchdowns with 68 yards rushing, and three tackles on defense.

By the end of the first quarter, Thrash had two passing touchdowns and his counter part Hunter Scarbough had the other one helping Newton County get off to a (20-0) lead over Ben’s Ford to end the first.

“My performance was based off my lineman. They did their thing for I could do my thing. With them blocking like they did tonight we can do anything,” said Hunter. The quarterback Scarbough won the Cricket Wireless player of the game award, given to the player who had the biggest game. He finished with eight rushes for 96 yards three touchdowns, 1 catch for 38 yards, also racked up 10 tackles.
