Porter’s Chapel is looking to extend their win streak to 6-0 on the season

Both teams started the game off slow, with both quarterbacks throwing a par of interceptions as Porter’s Chapel Academy (5-0) defeated Park Place Christian Academy (1-2), 38-0 on Friday September 15.

The game began with two interceptions, followed by two straight touchdown runs, by Jase Jung, who finished with eight carries for 143 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

By the end of the first quarter, Porter’s Chapel led 8-0 over Park Place.

It was not until the second quarter that Porter’s Chapel started heading up with the Eagles scoring three straight touchdowns with the help up senior quarterback John Wyatt Massey and his 54 yard strike to receiver Thomas Azlin with the score to put Porter’s Chapel up 26-0.

To start the third quarter Ty Mack had a pair of two big runs, most notably a 52 yard run to the house for one of his two touchdowns on the day.

“I think I played pretty good other than that first throw that was an interception it was a bad read I should of ran it. After that I was really proud of my pocket mobility it is something, I have been working on moving in the pocket when they were sending blitzes.,” Massey, who was awarded IMPACT Mississippi honors, said after his team’s win.

Massey, the quarterback, won the MPACK Mississippi award, given to the player who had the biggest impact. He finished with five rushes for 15 yards, 12-18 passing for 171 yards two touchdowns and also racked up four tackles, a tackle for loss and a sack.

Ty Massey won are Cricket Wireless Player of the game. He finished with 138 yards rushing, one touchdown, two catches for 20 yards and a score while on defense he racked up three tackles.

Porter’s Chapel will go on the road next Friday to Hillcrest at seven while Park Place Christian Academy will be back at home to face Humphreys Academy at seven.
